Why one motivational talk rarely changes much
Most HR and L&D leaders have seen it: a well-received session, a good feedback score, and three weeks later nothing is different. The World Health Organization's guidelines on mental health at work point in a different direction. They recommend training managers to support their teams' mental health, training workers in mental-health literacy, and individual interventions that build skills for managing stress, alongside changes to how work itself is organised.
In practice, workshops work best when they are:
- Specific. One clear problem (for example, burnout in a delivery team) rather than "wellness" in general.
- Skills-based. People leave able to do something new: a breathing tool, a way to give feedback, a script for a hard conversation.
- Spaced. A series of sessions over 6–8 weeks turns learning into habit far better than a single day.
- Psychologically safe. People only speak honestly in a room where it's safe to.
- Measured. A simple before-and-after check and an impact summary for leadership.
How to choose topics for your teams
Start with what you're seeing, not with a catalogue:
| What you're seeing | Where to start |
|---|---|
| Exhaustion, sick days, high performers going quiet | Stress Management & Burnout Prevention; Sleep Hygiene & Recovery |
| Conflict, tension in meetings, poor collaboration | Emotional Intelligence at Work; Anger Management & Emotional Regulation |
| People not speaking up, exclusion, everyday slights | Microaggressions & Psychological Safety |
| Managers struggling with difficult conversations | Emotional Intelligence at Work; Leadership 1:1 programmes |
| Regretted attrition you can't explain | An Emotional Attrition Audit before any training |
| Teams that need to reconnect after change | Expressive Art Therapy for Teams; Gratitude & Positive Psychology |
Signature workshops
- Stress Management & Burnout PreventionWhat stress actually does to the brain and body, in plain language, and the practical tools that interrupt the cycle before it becomes burnout.
- Emotional Intelligence at WorkThe four pillars of EQ (self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness, relationship management) made practical for everyday work conversations.
- Microaggressions & Psychological SafetyGoes beyond awareness to behaviour change: how small, everyday slights erode safety, and how teams can notice, repair and prevent them. Delivered at Barclays.
- Expressive Art Therapy for TeamsA psychologist-guided creative experience that reaches what lectures can't. Art and reflection to release stress and reconnect. No artistic skill needed.
- Work-Life Balance & BoundariesBalance isn't a time-management problem; it's a psychological one. We address guilt directly and build boundaries that actually hold.
- Anger Management & Emotional RegulationUnderstand the anger cycle and learn to catch it early, so conflict becomes conversation instead of damage.
- Gratitude & Positive PsychologyThe science of gratitude and positive emotion, from dopamine to team cohesion, with practices that stick beyond the session.
- Sleep Hygiene & RecoveryThe most under-addressed performance issue at work. Sleep cycles, screens, cortisol and a realistic plan to rest better.
- Healthy Relationships & CommunicationRelationships at work and at home affect each other. Communication styles, listening and handling difficult conversations with care.
Formats: 90-minute session, Half-day, Full-day. Delivered in person, online, hybrid.
Formats and engagement models
Most organisations begin with a single 90-minute focused session to experience the work. The Wellness Starter Pack spaces three sessions across 6–8 weeks, and the Quarterly Wellness Programme runs six sessions over three months, framed by a needs assessment at the start and an impact summary at the end. Confidential EAP counselling and leadership 1:1 programmes can run alongside.
Tripti has worked with teams at Wipro, Barclays, Samsung, LTI Mindtree, Boston Scientific and other organisations, and with hospitals including Max Healthcare, Apollo Hospitals and VIMHANS.
What to ask any workshop provider
- Who designs and delivers the session, and what is their training?
- How will you tailor it to our industry, team level and current pressures?
- What will participants be able to do differently afterwards?
- How do you handle someone who becomes distressed during a session?
- How will we know whether it worked?
How to start
Request a proposal with a few lines about your team and what you're noticing. You'll get a reply within two working days, usually with a short call to understand your people before anything is suggested.
Designing for different audiences
The same topic lands differently depending on who's in the room:
- Senior leaders need space to reflect on their own pressure and on how their behaviour shapes the culture, often best in smaller groups or 1:1.
- People managers need practical skills: noticing distress, starting a supportive conversation, handling conflict and knowing where to refer.
- Individual contributors benefit most from concrete self-management tools and a clear, safe route to support.
- Mixed groups work well for topics like gratitude, expressive art or team relationships, where shared experience is the point.
What helps a session go well
- A clear brief: what's happening in the team, and what you'd like people to leave with.
- Leaders who attend, not just sponsor.
- A room (or video call) where people can talk freely, without managers monitoring who says what.
- Information about the support available afterwards, such as an EAP or counselling.
- A short follow-up a few weeks later to check what stuck.
Language and inclusion
Sessions can be delivered in English, Hindi or both, which matters in teams where people are more comfortable talking about feelings in their first language. Examples are adapted to your industry, team level and workplace realities, from shift-based operations to client-facing roles.
